Casper A. Ruf (1896-1976), Parkersburg WV

CASPER A. RUF (1896-1976)
Someone has said that "a good man lives honorably and dies regretted." Such a man was Casper Ruf, for he knew the summit of success and the valley of disappointment and reversal, while in each circumstance he retained his honor and dignity. In his administration of the affairs of the Mid Ohio Valley United Fund he maintained a high degree of fiscal responsibilty and financial integrity. He had an uncanny knack of being able to read the economic and employment climate of the community and translating that into realistic goals for each campaign. He kept a meticulous and thorough accounting of facts and information as they related to the operation of the United Fund. His modus operandi will long remain a guildeline and high criterion for his successors.
There is sincere regret at his demise, for he was a devoted husband, a gentleman, a churchman, and a trusted friend to many. He gave no quarter to that which was less than the best or to that which bore the effects of sham. He loved his community and contributed much to its betterment. The God and Father of us all has seen fit to call him to rest and to further service in His eternal realm.
